CSD13 Schools' (35 passenger bus) request for purchase FY 2027 was approved on 1/9/2026.    

• One thought is to utilize the bus for the HCTC bus runs.  The school would own and insure the bus, but the company that is chosen for the transportation contract would provide the driver/training/safety/scheduling.  Pending agreement, this has the potential to save taxpayers mileage rates.  

• Software to enhance driver accountability, optimize routes, and offer transparency for families is being explored during the bidding process with transportation companies.

The Union 76 Transportation Request For Proposal was sent out to potential bidders on January 20, 2026.  The timeline for this RFP is as follows:

At the Union Meeting on March 9th at 4pm at Sedgwick School sealed bid for student transportation services received by the deadline of February 20 was opened and read aloud.  The Union Board awarded the transportation contract to Brown’s Busing.  The contract starts July 1, 2026.
