Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are excited to begin a new year and look forward to helping your children grow and learn.

The purpose of this handbook is to assist Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School parents/guardians in understanding the details of school life, welcoming families to be a part of the school community, sharing healthy practices and clear school expectations & policies. Please take some time to read this handbook with your child. We are glad to provide a printed copy upon request.

We are committed to communicating effectively with parents. We have an open door policy, and we encourage parents to ask questions and check in on their child’s progress. Visit our school website at http://www.dises.org for more information about our school. It is our hope that our website will provide up-to-date and easy access information.

School Board policies can be found on the school and district’s website: http://www.su76.org. We have tried to link our school procedures with CSD 13 School Board Policy where applicable. School Board policies are developed and revised by the CSD School Board who welcome public comments on policy.
