The first day of school is September 1st for only K, 3 and 6
graders. This transition day allows teachers and students, new
to the school or school wing, to get to know each other and to
start to learn bell schedules, classroom routines and wing
expectations. All students will come on September 2nd.
School will be starting 5 minutes sooner – 7:55 am and
ending 10 minutes later – 2:50 pm. Students will be allowed to
go to their classrooms at 7:40 am. Students should not be
dropped off before 7:25 am. The added time is to maintain the
amount of instructional time that your students have this year
because of the district wide early release Fridays.
Students will be dismissed on Fridays at 1:40 pm so that
teachers will have an hour and half for Professional Learning
Communities (PLC). During PLC time, teachers will be looking
at progress of all students. If a student needs some help,
teachers will develop an individual learning plan (ILP) for that
student during the PLC time. This plan will be designed to get
individual help to a student that may need a little or a great deal
of extra help.
